Smart Surfers is an exciting and easy to use resource designed to help individuals, families and communities master the essential skills of information searching and staying safe on the web.

The aim of Smart Surfers is to provide information, advice and guidance to Birmingham citizens, especially parents, carers and guardians, about the potential problems of life on the Internet and appropriate behaviour and use.

If you understand the issues and know how to deal with safety concerns, you are better able to support young people and your community who use the Internet and encourage them to be safe online.

We have presented this information to you in the form of short stories. These include a few online activities that you might like to carry out to test your understanding of the Internet.
